The Football Development Department of AFFA has organised educational training sessions at the country's football academies, specifically at the Shamakhi and Gabala academies.

According to Offsideplus.az, citing the federation's press service, the training was conducted by Serkhan Huseynov, head of the Football Development Department, physical training expert Turcay Ahmadov, project manager for the Eyeball platform Ziya Askerov, supervisor for the academies Sakit Rzayev, and coordinator Said Abasov.

During the programme, a comprehensive exchange of ideas took place with coaches regarding AFFA's 5-Star Academy Development Model, the implementation of a unified development model in football academies, the Game Model, Player Pathway, planning of the training process, determination of player profiles, preparation of training content suitable for developmental stages, and principles for nurturing world-class footballers.

Participants were provided with detailed information about the objectives of the 5-Star Academy Development Model, assessment criteria, implementation mechanisms, and the role of academies in long-term development.

The sessions also discussed the importance of players' off-field lifestyle and professional behaviour habits, planning physical training according to age groups, and the establishment of a unified training and game terminology across all age categories of the academy.

A presentation of the Eyeball platform, designed for planning, monitoring, and evaluating player development, was conducted. During the presentation, the main functions of the platform, its application possibilities in academies, and the advantages it offers for tracking and managing player development in a digital environment were highlighted to the participants.

The training programme will continue in various football academies and small football schools across the country in the upcoming period.
