President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree awarding Iskander Javadov, a former footballer, with the "Honorary Diploma of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan".

According to Offsideplus.az, the state leader's decree recognises Iskander Javadov for his long-term effective contributions to the development and promotion of Azerbaijani football.

It is worth noting that the former forward of Neftchi and the USSR national team will celebrate his 70th birthday on September 20.
