The France national team defeated Azerbaijan 3–1 in Baku in their final match of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

As reported by Offsideplus.az, France head coach Didier Deschamps shared his thoughts at the post-match press conference:

“Our goal here was to do our job — and we did. In the first half, the opponent behaved aggressively. The first half surprised us. But football is 90 minutes long. In the end, we achieved victory. We are ready for the upcoming matches.”

The match was held at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium.
