AFFA's Disciplinary Committee has given a legal assessment of the negative incidents that occurred in the final match between "Qarabag" and "Sabah" for the Azerbaijan Cup (2:3).
Offsideplus.az reports that the organization has punished "Qarabag" in particular severely. This was due to the events that took place in the technical zone after the Aghdam club conceded the third goal in extra time.
Thus, "Qarabag" was punished under 4 articles:
- in the 120th minute of the game, "Qarabag" coach Mushfig Huseynov was given a direct red card for entering the field and protesting the referee's decision, and was suspended for 2 matches, and the club was fined 1,500 manat;
- in the 120th minute of the match, Qarabag player Yassin Benzia tried to exert physical pressure on the referee after receiving a direct red card for insulting him, for which the Algerian midfielder was disqualified for 5 matches, and the Aghdam representative was fined 3,000 manat;
- The club was fined 700 manat for 4 people receiving yellow cards in Qarabag;
- Qarabag must pay a fine of 1,500 manat for the use of pyrotechnics by its fans;
"Sabah" was punished in only 2 cases. A fine of 700 manat was imposed on 5 players of "Bayguşlar" for receiving yellow cards.
In addition, "Sabah" was fined 1,500 manat for the use of pyrotechnics by its fans.
