Today, a meeting of the AFFA Executive Committee was held.

Then, the report of the Professional Football League was heard. PFL Vice President Aslan Shahgeldiyev reported on the progress of the season in the Misli Premier League, as well as the I and II leagues. He answered questions from the Executive Committee members and listened to their suggestions and opinions.
Then, the format of the 2025/2026 season in the Azerbaijan Premier League was discussed. It was decided that the next season will consist of 3 rounds (33 rounds) with the participation of 12 teams. The teams that will host the matches of the III round will be determined by drawing lots. In accordance with the Regulations for the current season, the team that takes the last place will leave the Premier League, and instead, 3 teams from the I League will directly qualify for the higher bracket.
The club that finished last in the League in the current season will be relegated to League II, while the top 3 teams from League II will be promoted directly to League I. A one-game play-off match will be held on a neutral field between the teams that finished 9th in League I and 4th in League II. The winning team will gain the right to compete in League I. It should be noted that since 3 teams will be promoted from League I to Premier League at the end of the current season, such a system will be applied.
The Executive Committee decided that in the 2025/2026 season, the club that finished last in League I will be relegated to League I, and the winner of League I will gain a direct qualification to the higher bracket. A one-game play-off match will be held on a neutral field between the teams that finished 11th in League I and 2nd in League I. The winning team will gain the right to participate in League I.
In the 2025/2026 season, the team finishing last in League I will be relegated to League II, while the team finishing first in League II will be promoted directly to League I. The team finishing 9th in League I will play a one-game playoff at a neutral venue against the team finishing 2nd in League II.
