The International Chess Federation (FIDE) has published its updated world rankings for men's and women's national teams for April 2026.

Offsideplus.az reports that the rankings are determined by the average ELO rating of each country's top ten active players. According to the latest figures:

Men's National Team: With an average rating of 2622, the Azerbaijani men's team has dropped one spot, now ranking 8th in the world.

Women's National Team: The women's side improved its average rating to 2302. Despite this increase, they maintain their position at 11th place globally.

Mixed Ranking: In the combined rankings (average of both categories), Azerbaijan remains steady in 9th place with a rating of 2462.

The global leaderboards remain dominated by the USA (2726) in the men's category and China (2490) in the women's. China also continues to hold the top spot in the overall mixed ranking with a score of 2572.
