The "Baku Open 2025" chess festival has concluded.
According to Offsideplus.az, nearly 700 chess players from 17 countries competed across 9 rounds in 3 categories.
In Group A, which featured the strongest players, Serbian grandmaster Aleksandar Indjic emerged victorious with 7 points. Azerbaijani players were unable to finish among the prize winners. The highest-rated local participant in Group A, national team member Aydın Süleymanlı, scored 5.5 points and finished in 12th place.
The total prize fund of the festival was 55,000 AZN.
