The traditional international chess festival, Baku Open, is currently taking place in the capital of Azerbaijan.

According to Offsideplus.az, 100 chess players are competing in the competitive Group A, 26 of whom are local representatives.

After six rounds, five players sit in the leading group with 5 points each. Among them is Azerbaijan's Khagan Ahmed, who currently rounds out the top five based on tie-break criteria.

It should be noted that the festival also includes competitions in Groups B and C. The total prize fund is $50,000. The tournament, held under the Swiss system consisting of 9 rounds, will continue until May 6.
