Charles Leclerc, the Ferrari driver, has commented on his second-place finish in the qualifying round of the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, expressing satisfaction with the result.

The 28-year-old driver shared his impressions:

"To be honest, it wasn't a bad session for me. Lewis Hamilton was ahead of me by 3-4 seconds, and thanks to him, I was able to achieve a good time with the 'slipstream' I created. However, when you see how far behind we are compared to George Russell's result, you realise that our lap wasn't actually that impressive.

Overall, we played the role of the chasing team throughout the weekend. After the difficult session last Thursday, we thought we would be quite far behind the leaders, but this morning's session gave us a glimmer of hope.

I think we ended up roughly where we expected in terms of our starting position. However, the gap to the best time is really quite large.

Let's see how everything unfolds tomorrow. The speed on the straights isn't the strong point of the Ferrari car, but our long-distance pace in the first free practice was very good. I hope it will be the same tomorrow."

It is worth noting that the main race of the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix will take place tomorrow, on September 26.
