The Judo Grand Slam tournament is currently taking place in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia.

According to Offsideplus.az, Olympic champion Hidayat Heydarov took to the mat today.

Although he lost to Georgia's Giorgi Loladze in the quarterfinals, he earned the right to compete in the repechage round. In the repechage, Hidayat faced another Georgian athlete, Giorgi Terashvili. By defeating Terashvili, our judoka secured a chance to fight for the bronze medal.

In the bronze medal match, Hidayat Heydarov overcame Anton Shukhaliyev, representing Spain, to finish the tournament in third place.

It should be noted that our other representatives who competed yesterday — Kamran Suleymanov (73 kg), Sudaba Agayeva, and Aytac Gardashkhanli (both 70 kg) - finished the competition without medals.
