The quarter-final stage has commenced at the "Strandja" International Boxing Tournament held in Sofia, Bulgaria.

According to Offsideplus.az, two members of the Azerbaijani national team emerged victorious in this round, advancing to the semi-finals.

Bilalhabashi Nazarov (50 kg): Competing in his first-ever senior international tournament, Nazarov faced Rudolf Garboyan (Armenia). The Azerbaijani boxer knocked the European champion out of the competition with a 4:1 victory (28:29, 29:28, 29:28, 29:28, 30:27). In the semi-finals, Nazarov will face Siyovush Mukhammadiyev (Ukraine).

Malik Hasanov (65 kg): Hasanov continued his winning streak by defeating Yertugan Zeinulinov (Kazakhstan) with a decisive 5:0 score (29:27, 28*:28, 28*:28, 28*:28, 29:27). He will compete against Yuri Falcao (Brazil) for a spot in the final.

By securing their places in the semi-finals, both boxers have guaranteed themselves at least a bronze medal.

The semi-final matches of the "Strandja" tournament are scheduled to take place on February 28.
