Khalil Rountree, who will take part in the main event of UFC Fight Night in Baku on June 21, appeared in front of journalists at a press conference.

Offsideplus.az reports that the 35-year-old fighter first spoke about his arrival in Azerbaijan and the general mood:

"It's amazing. I didn't think Baku would be so beautiful and hospitable. Everyone is so nice. I'll never forget this place. I've never seen such excited fans anywhere. I came to Baku 2 weeks before the fight. It's impossible not to be happy here. I came early to make sure everything was good."

He spoke about his preparation after his last fight against Alex Pereira:

"The fight against Alex Pereira didn't go the way I wanted. It was tough. I learned a lot. I got back to training, prepared for this fight and I'm ready for Saturday. You'll see the best version of me."

"Does having new shorts bring pressure?" Khalil answered: "I don't feel pressure. I feel special because I have special shorts. Not many people have them. This is the gratitude of the UFC. I've been fighting here for a long time."

H. Rountree told the story behind wearing the "Qarabag" club jersey: I bought the "Qarabag" jersey at the mall. I wanted to buy a souvenir for myself. I bought a jersey and a hat (arakchin).

"The last fight was bloody for both you and Jamal Hill. What kind of fight awaits us on Saturday night?" Khalil answered:

"There will be no blood on my face. My opponent may have it. The way you see my face now, it will be the same after the fight."
