“I had gone through many training camps and was in good shape,” said Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler Islam Bazarganov, who won a bronze medal at the European Championships held in Bratislava, Slovakia.

According to Offsideplus.az, competing in the 57 kg weight category, Bazarganov shared his thoughts on his performance with the press service of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation.

"I might have lost in the semifinals because I didn't fully believe in myself," he said. "The bronze medal match turned out to be tougher than I expected. Of course, I wanted to become the champion. I need to work more on myself. Now we'll take a short break, and then we’ll start preparing for upcoming tournaments and the World Championships through new training camps. I’d like to thank our coaches and the federation for providing us with all the necessary support.”

It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team has won three bronze medals so far at the European Championships.
