Azerbaijani Rafael Fiziyev intends to change his weight class in the UFC.

Offsideplus.az reports that the athlete himself announced this in one of the podcasts he participated in.

He plans to move from lightweight (70 kg) to welterweight (65 kg): "I am already seriously thinking about it. Because on the eve of the last fight I was able to lose weight very easily. All week my dietician was forcing me to gain weight, because I lost weight without difficulty".

Our 33-year-old compatriot said that he wants to test his strength with the strongest athletes in welterweight: "I want to fight with those who are in the Top-10 in the new weight class. If I change my weight, I will create problems for them".

Note that. R. Fiziyev lost to American athlete Justin Gaethje on March 9 at the UFC313 tournament. Our compatriot, who has played 16 official matches in his professional career, has won 12 and suffered 4 defeats.
