Following his departure from Kapaz at the end of the season, Azar Bagirov's new club has been officially revealed. The 41-year-old specialist will be managing Shamakhi starting next season.

Did the experienced head coach reach an agreement with the Lions beforehand, or did the negotiations take place in recent days? What will be his main goals at the new club?

Azar Bagirov clarified all these questions in an exclusive statement to Offsideplus.az:

"Everything unfolded in a very short period of time. In fact, I could have stayed at Kapaz until the very last minute. It was meant to be, it is God's will. Today's situation required this. Our primary goal at Shamakhi will be to solidify the team's position in the Premier League and to discover and develop young talents for Azerbaijani football."
