"I am very happy for Azerbaijani football."
According to Offsideplus.az, these words were spoken by Qarabag head coach Gurban Gurbanov. The specialist shared his thoughts on the UEFA Champions League league phase (Round 7) match against "Eintracht" held in Baku:
"I want to congratulate our fans. Truly, this victory belonged to them. They stood by us in every match. Their prayers granted us this great triumph. I also congratulate my players; they worked extremely hard. Today, we saw a level of discipline that had been missing in some previous games. They remained disciplined until the end and believed in the victory.
After the training matches in Antalya, I mentioned that I was very satisfied with my players. If we had played just one more match, the team would have been in even better form. Our time was limited, but we did our best to maximize our core strengths. We added a few small details specifically for this opponent. My team was well-prepared. It was a beautiful win."
Gurbanov responded to a question about refereeing decisions as follows: "In my opinion, no further comment is needed. I got angry at that episode just like you did, but I managed to compose myself quickly. Such things happen in football. The President has already given a very broad, detailed, and correct answer to this. I thank him once again."
Regarding the errors made by Bahlul Mustafazade during the match, the specialist commented: "Football is a game of errors. Unfortunately, defenders make them the most. Bahlul is just unlucky to be a defender (laughs). This happens to everyone. Given his goal against Eintracht, all his previous mistakes can be forgiven."
It should be noted that the "Qarabağ" - "Eintracht" match ended in a 3-2 victory for the Agdam representative.
