Offsideplus.az reports that these words were spoken by Rimas Kurtinaitis, the head coach of Sabah's basketball team, in a statement to Azbasketbol.
Following the match, he commented on the championship titles won by both the basketball and football teams:
"I congratulate the football team. They have become champions for the first time in their history. I congratulate their head coach and the entire squad. Valdas Dambrauskas is also Lithuanian. You see, wherever there are Lithuanians, there is first place. The fans of both Sabah’s football and basketball teams are magnificent. I have attended the football matches as well. Today, their voices were very loud. We will do our best for next season. I would be even happier to see more fans and schoolchildren coming to the games. Basketball is truly a great game."
It should be noted that Sabah defeated Absheron Lions in the final series to become the champions of the 2025-26 Azerbaijan Basketball League season.
