The head of the Federation's Press and Public Relations Department, Firuz Abdulla, told Offsideplus.az
that there was an agreement between AFFA and the Republican Center for Therapeutic Diagnostics for
S. Shikhlarov's operation:

"Samedaga has appealed to AFFA regarding Shikharov's operation. The federation said it will meet the
operating costs. An agreement has been signed with the Republican Medical Diagnostic Center. The hospital
has been contacted after the announcement and AFFA stated that the payment was made according to the
contract. "The money from Samikha Shikhlarov will be returned."

Anar Khanlarov, a member of the Football Association's Trade Union Board, accused AFFA of not keeping it's
word. He claimed that AFFA, which took over Samedaga Shikhlarov's operating expenses, told the veteran
footballer that there was "no money" a few days to the operation:

"Our veteran footballer has had 5 surgeries before and he has gotten any help from AFFA. This time they
have were called and a petition was also filed. Then they asked the hospital for the official amount
required for the surgery. Some days before the operation, the federation said that there was no money
for the operation.
