The Artistic Gymnastics World Cup kicked off in Baku today.

Offsideplus.az reports that the participating countries were first introduced at the opening ceremony of the competition.

Then, the national flags were brought to the center of the arena. The Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, Farid Gayibov, made a speech and provided information about the prestigious competitions held in our republic in gymnastics and the achievements achieved.

It should be noted that Azerbaijan is represented in the competition by Nikita Simonov (hoop), Ivan Tikhonov (horizontal bar), Rasul Ahmadzadeh (freestyle, pommel horse), Mansum Safarov (vault, horizontal bar), Murad Agarzayev (freestyle), Ramin Damirov (parallel bars) among men, and Nazanin Teymurova (on each of 6 apparatuses) and Deniz Aliyeva (on each of 6 apparatuses) among women.

Athletes from 19 countries are testing their strength at the World Cup.

At the end of the competitions, which will continue until March 9, the gymnasts with the highest execution scores will also be awarded the traditional "AGF Trophy".
