Director of the Azerbaijan National Anti- Doping Agency (AMADAShafag Huseynli has been elected a member of the Standing Committee on Political and Strategic Regulation of Education of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

Following a unanimous decision in February this year, Huseynli was nominated for membership in the 12-member Standing Committee on Education by WADA's president, director-general and chairman of the committee and nominated for official appointment to the agency's governing body. On March 30, her election as a member was approved by the Executive Committee.

The structure of WADA includes only five of such Standing Committees, which are the main body and carry out political and strategic management in various areas of the fight against doping. The Standing Committee on Education provides short-term strategies and action plans, as well as expert advice on educational programs. It also oversees long-term policies for the global regulation of anti-doping education. The Committee is also involved in the selection process for research in the field of social science projects funded by WADA. Decisions made by the Standing Committee are submitted directly to the WADA Executive Committee and the Founders' Council for consideration.

Huseynli is also a member of the WADA National Anti-Doping Agency's Advisory Group, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Europe's Special Working Group on Ensuring Athletes' Access to Justice, and the Council of Europe's Special Working Group on Work with the World Anti-Doping Agency. is the head of the committee on gender equality.
