Asen Mitkov, the captain of the Bulgarian U-21 national football team, commented on the goalless draw against Azerbaijan in the 7th round of the EURO 2027 qualifying Group B match held in Plovdiv.

Offsideplus.az reports that the captain expressed his frustration over the missed opportunities:

"In the final minutes of the match against Azerbaijan, we lacked a bit of luck and skill. We were in too much of a hurry in the first half, but I believe we played better in the second. I feel we deserved the win. Balov, Iliev, and Teodor Ivanov are the leaders of this team, and we missed them in this game. Also, three players fell ill, which had an impact as well."
