The U-17 World Wrestling Championship has kicked off in Baku.
According to Offsideplus.az, five Azerbaijani wrestlers competed on the first day. Among them, three—Omar Salmanov, Orkhan Habibli, and Isfahan Hasanov—managed to advance to the semifinals.
Qurban Mecnunov was defeated in the round of 16, while Emin Baxishaliyev lost in the qualification stage.
It is worth noting that the tournament's opening ceremony will take place at 17:15, with the semifinals starting at 18:00.
The tournament will continue until August 2.
