The U-17 World Wrestling Championship will commence today in Baku.

According to Offsideplus.az, 663 athletes from 60 countries will compete in the tournament.

The matches will take place at the National Gymnastics Arena.

On the first day, five Azerbaijani wrestlers will take to the mat:

48 kg: Omer Salmanov - Avinash Chetake (India) (Round of 16)

55 kg: Qurban Mecnunov - Alixan Minazarov (Kyrgyzstan) (Qualification Round)

65 kg: Orkhan Habibli - Gaspar Sanchez (Czech Republic) (Qualification Round)

80 kg: Isfahan Hesenov - Toma Yelench (Croatia) (Qualification Round)

110 kg: Emin Bakhshaliyev - Andrey Simic (Serbia) (Qualification Round)

It is noted that the preliminary round matches will start at 10:30. The opening ceremony will take place at 17:15, followed by the semi-finals at 18:00.

The tournament will continue until August 2.
