As part of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation's (AWF) efforts to strengthen sports infrastructure in the regions, a freestyle wrestling hall has been inaugurated in the village of Dash Salahli in the Qazakh district.
According to Offsideplus.az, the sports facility, built with the financial support of the 2006 graduates of Dash Salahli Secondary School No. 1, has been equipped by the AWF with mats and other necessary equipment. Currently, around 120 young athletes are training there.
The opening ceremony, held on July 3, was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Farid Gayibov, the head of the Qazakh District Executive Authority, Rajab Babashov, AWF vice-presidents Namig Abdullayev and Farid Mansurov, as well as the renowned wrestler Haji Aliyev. The guests emphasised that the new hall will make a significant contribution to the development of future champions in the region. It was also noted that Qazakh being declared Azerbaijan's Sports Capital for 2026 has provided a new impetus for the development of sports in the district.
During the opening, a demonstration training session was conducted under the guidance of coach Asgar Mammadaliyev, and a signing event featuring world champion Haji Aliyev was organised.
