The finalists in the Greco-Roman wrestling discipline have been determined on the opening day of the U-15 European Championship held in Samokov, Bulgaria.

According to Offsideplus.az, two members of the Azerbaijani national team have successfully advanced to the finals.

Huseyn Amrahli (38 kg) secured his spot in the final after consecutive victories over opponents from Armenia, Bulgaria, and Russia. He will face Daniel Samuel of Estonia for the gold medal.

Our other finalist, Pasha Aslan (44 kg), earned his place in the decisive match by defeating wrestlers from Belarus, Serbia, and Georgia. His opponent in the final will be Pasha Khudoyan of Armenia.

Among our other wrestlers, Punhan Shahmarov (48 kg) will compete for the bronze medal, while Raul Mammadzada (62 kg) has earned the right to compete in the repechage round. Meanwhile, Sadig Valizada (57 kg) was eliminated in the semifinals, Raul Mammadzada in the quarterfinals, and Rasul Ahmadli (52 kg) in the round of 16.

Additionally, Khudayar Karimov (41 kg) had to bring an early end to his campaign after suffering an injury during his quarterfinal bout.
