Sabah's head coach Valdas Dambrauskas addressed journalists at a press conference held ahead of the UEFA Champions League play-off match against Israel's Hapoel Beer Sheva.

According to Offsideplus.az, the Lithuanian specialist shared his thoughts on the historic encounter, emphasising that his team did not reach this stage by chance.

Dambrauskas specifically highlighted the excitement of the play-off and the similarities between the two teams:

"The Champions League play-off stage always brings a different atmosphere and excitement. For our club, this is a first appearance in this arena. We are looking forward to an interesting battle ahead. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our opponent 'Hapoel' for making it this far. In two weeks, one of the teams will write their name in history by qualifying for the main stage of the Champions League. We have never been considered favourites in this tournament; we have always been seen as the underdogs. The same can be said for our opponent. However, with the effort we have put in, the quality we possess, and the determination of our players, we fully deserve to be at this level."

Touching on the opponent's playing style, the specialist noted that both sides share a similar philosophy:

"Two teams that resemble each other will face off on the pitch. Both we and our opponent love attacking football, active pressing, and dictating the game. We will see what awaits us tomorrow. We have arrived here in full strength from Baku, with no injured players, and the team is 100 per cent ready for the match."

It is worth noting that the match between Hapoel and Sabah will kick off today at 23:00 Baku time in Bucharest, Romania.
