'Sabah' suffered a 1-4 defeat to Norway's 'Viking' club in the league stage of the UEFA Champions League.

Bextiyar Musayev, head of the Scouts Department at AFFA's Technical Department, shared his thoughts on the match with Offsideplus.az.

He noted that 'Sabah' started the game well, but the plans did not yield the desired results in the second half. Musayev highlighted the injury of a key player, as well as the penalty and red card, as reasons for the defeat:

"Unfortunately, our team lost yesterday's match. However, they started well from the very first minutes. According to my observations, the coach's plan was to play cautiously in the first half and adopt a more attacking style in the second half. Unfortunately, it was not possible to fully implement this plan.

I think one of the key points was the injury of an important player. 'Sabah' has 3-4 players who can make a difference, and the absence of one of them affected the team's performance. On the other hand, there was also some bad luck. An easy penalty was awarded against us, and a red card was shown towards the end of the match.

Nevertheless, 'Sabah' fought valiantly. The opponent is a dangerous team at home. 'Viking' has also shown quality performances against clubs like 'Bayern'. They are a very strong team tactically and physically. However, despite all this, our representative fought hard. It’s just that the score difference was heavy.

We must not lose heart over this defeat. I believe in our team for future matches. I think 'Sabah' will show good performances and earn points in the upcoming fixtures."
