In the context of the main stage of the D-2028, the Azerbaijani futsal team drew 2-2 with the Czech Republic.

Offsideplus.az reports that after the match, interim head coach Elvin Quliyev evaluated the game at a press conference.

He stated that the plan established in the first half worked, but they made technical errors after the break: "Thank you very much for coming. The plan we set at the beginning of the game worked, and we scored a goal. The first 4-5 minutes of the second half are always difficult. We made technical mistakes. We wanted to keep the pressure on the game."

Touching on the two consecutive goals conceded at the start of the second half, the specialist emphasised that this stemmed from inexperience: "It’s due to inexperience. As we gain more practice, we will get used to it. We couldn’t execute the task given. We should have been able to keep the ball away from our goal."

Elvin Quliyev also highlighted the importance of giving young players a chance: "We want to develop. We want to give young players time. There’s no other way. They grow by making such mistakes."

The interim head coach also spoke about the upcoming match against Latvia: "We will have a different tactic for the game against Latvia. We have mistakes, but we are a team that has come together in a short time. We have implemented modern training programmes."

It should be noted that the Azerbaijani team will play their next match against Latvia on November 8.
