A new appointment has been made at the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA).

According to Offsideplus.az, Ali Verdiyev has been appointed as the director of the Communication and Public Relations Department of AFFA. Verdiyev announced this on his personal social media accounts.

Prior to this new role, he has held various leadership positions in both the private sector and international organisations. Throughout his career, he has been responsible for reputation and crisis management at companies such as Philip Morris International, NEQSOL Holding, and Japan Tobacco International.

Ali Verdiyev holds a bachelor's degree in English language and translation from Baku State University (1996-2000) and a master's degree in international business from Khazar University (2009-2012).
