The U17 European Wrestling Championship held in Samokov, Bulgaria, has come to a close.
Offsideplus.az reports that the Azerbaijani freestyle wrestling national team captured two medals on the final day of the tournament.
Tunar Hasanov (45 kg) defeated Turkey's Bugra Eldemir 5-2 in the bronze medal match to finish third in the continental championship.
In the 51 kg final, Ibrahim Hasanov secured a convincing 11-3 victory over Mahammed Qolha of Turkey to step onto the highest step of the podium.
Meanwhile, Elgun Karimli (92 kg) dominated Belarus's Timur Mirzayev 11-1 in the repechage round but missed out on a podium finish after a 0-8 defeat against Nuraddin Mustafayev of Georgia in the bronze medal bout.
With these results, the national team concluded the European Championship with a total of 3 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
