The European Wrestling Championships continue in Tirana, the capital of Albania.

Offsideplus.az reports that freestyle wrestlers joined the competition today. Two of them, Islam Bazarganov (57 kg) and Jabrayil Gadjiyev (79 kg), have advanced to the semifinals.

Rashid Babazade (65 kg) defeated Nico Megerle (Germany) but fell short against Bashir Magomedov (UWW) in the quarterfinals. Kanan Heybatov (70 kg) lost to Oleksii Boruta (Ukraine), while Osman Nurmagomedov (97 kg) was defeated by Givi Matcharashvili (Georgia).

The semifinal bouts will begin tonight after 18:45 Baku time.

It should be noted that three Azerbaijani female wrestlers will also compete for bronze medals today. Zhala Aliyeva (57 kg), Ruzanna Mammadova (62 kg), and Birgul Soltanova (65 kg) will aim to secure a spot on the podium at the continental championship.
