The President of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, Mikayil Jabbarov, commented on the Azerbaijani national Greco-Roman wrestling team becoming the European champion.

Offsideplus.az reports that M. Jabbarov shared on the X platform:

"We are the strongest in Europe! The next great success of our national Greco-Roman wrestling team at the European Championship held in the capital of Albania, Tirana, makes each of us happy and proud. The fact that Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) made history as the European champion for the 4th time in a row, and Gurban Gurbanov (82 kg) defended his title and rose to the top again is a clear example of great determination, hard work and professionalism. The bronze medals won by Rashad Mammadov (55 kg), Nihat Mammadli (60 kg) and Islam Abbasov (87 kg) once again demonstrated the fighting spirit of our team. I sincerely congratulate our athletes, their coaches and families on this remarkable success, and I wish these victories won by Azerbaijani sports in the international arena to continue."
