Islam Abbasov (87 kg), who won a bronze medal at the European Wrestling Championships in Tirana, Albania, shared his impressions of the continental tournament.
Offsideplus.az reports that he highlighted the intense competition of the event:
“This is a very difficult path. As you know, Greco-Roman wrestling is developed at a very high level in European countries. For this reason, the European Championship is extremely competitive and intense. I would like to express my deep gratitude to everyone who supported me during my preparation for this competition.
The results you achieve at the European and World Championships each year are an indicator of your preparation throughout that year. The goal was to become the champion; however, there were some shortcomings. We will work to eliminate them in upcoming competitions. We will regain our 100% form and prepare for future tournaments.”
