On October 16-17, a wrestling competition was held at the Astara Olympic Sports Complex in memory of Azerbaijan's National Hero, Penceli Teymurov.

According to Offsideplus.az, this inaugural tournament was jointly organised by the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation and the Lankaran-Astara Regional Youth and Sports Department.

Around 100 young athletes competed in the U15 age group. On the first day of the event, a signing ceremony was also held for Aliabbas Rzazadeh, a prominent figure from the Astara wrestling school, European and U23 world champion, and coach of the U15 national team.

It is worth noting that the aim of such competitions is to support the emergence of promising athletes, enhance their competitive experience, and strengthen the spirit of patriotism among the younger generation.
