On the second day of the European Wrestling Championships held in Tirana, Albania, Azerbaijan's Greco-Roman wrestlers delivered a successful performance.
Offsideplus.az reports that Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) defeated all his opponents, including a 4:2 victory over Georgia's Diego Chkhikvadze in the semifinals, to reach the European Championship final for the fourth time in his career.
Gurban Gurbanov (82 kg) also secured a spot in the final after overcoming Gela Bolkvadze in the semifinals. Both wrestlers will compete for gold medals tomorrow.
Although Nihat Mammadli (60 kg) lost in the semifinals, he will take to the mat tomorrow to fight for a bronze medal. Meanwhile, Ruslan Nurullayev (72 kg) and Murad Ahmadiyev (97 kg) ended their campaign after defeats in the quarterfinals.
In tomorrow's final bouts, Hasrat Jafarov will face Murat Firat of Turkey, while Gurban Gurbanov will take on Adlet Tyulbayev of Russia.
