The capital of Albania, Tirana, will host the "Muhamet Malo" tournament for freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling.
Offsideplus.az reports that the press service of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation has released information regarding the event.
The year's second ranking competition will take place from February 25 to March 1. The tournament, held at the "Olympic Park," will kick off with freestyle wrestlers. Under the leadership of head coach Khetag Gazyumov, senior coach Jabrayil Hasanov, and coach Sharif Sharifov, the following athletes will take to the mat: Islam Bazarganov (57 kg), Rashid Babazade (65 kg), Turan Bayramov, Kanan Heybatov (both 74 kg), Jabrayil Gadjiyev (79 kg), Arseniy Djioyev (86 kg), Magomedkhan Magomedov (97 kg), and Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg).
In the final days of the competition, the Greco-Roman wrestling matches will take place. Under the guidance of head coach Mohammad Bana and coaches Rovshan Bayramov, Rasul Jazini, and Sabah Shariati, the following wrestlers will represent Azerbaijan in Tirana: Hikmat Hagverdiyev, Rashad Mammadov (both 55 kg), Nihat Mammadli, Nihad Guluzade (both 60 kg), Sakit Guliyev, Ziya Babashov, Murad Mammadov (all 63 kg), Mahammad Shukurzade (67 kg), Ruslan Nurullayev (72 kg), Davud Mammadov (77 kg), Tuncay Vazirzade (82 kg), Islam Abbasov, Lachin Valiyev (both 87 kg), Murad Ahmadiyev, Mahammad Ahmadiyev, Arif Niftullayev (all 97 kg), Beka Kandelaki, and Sarkhan Mammadov (both 130 kg).
The matches will start daily at 13:30 Baku time, with medal bouts beginning at 21:00. Category I-S referee Asif Shiraliyev will represent Azerbaijan among the officials at the ranking tournament.
