The Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation has launched a new project called “Wrestle Like a Girl.”

Offsideplus.az reports that the federation’s new training base located in the center of Baku will serve to train future female wrestlers. The project, implemented under the “Wrestle Like a Girl” campaign, aims to further increase interest in women’s wrestling in the country and create mass participation in this field.

The wrestling center located on Natig Aliyev Street is being trained 5 days a week by Sabira Aliyeva, the third European champion among adults and the world champion among youth, and Leyla Gurbanova, the two-time winner of the Islamic Solidarity Games, the world champion among youth and the second European champion. Girls aged 7-17 can participate in the training process by registering at qizkimigüles.awf.az.

The training sessions held at the wrestling center, which is equipped with all the necessary equipment, are free of charge.
