"Both matches were very important for us, and we had prepared seriously."
According to Offsideplus.az, these words were shared by Nigar Mirzaliyeva, a member of the Azerbaijan women's national team, in a statement following the 2-0 victory over Andorra. Commenting on the match, she said:
"We absolutely needed the win. We followed the coach's instructions and won both matches. As a team, we are very happy. We now have 9 points in the group. The upcoming games will be difficult, but we will strive to qualify. We are highly motivated in both training and matches. Everyone in the team is like family, and this unity makes us stronger."
The defender also discussed the atmosphere at her club, Hamburger SV:
"Everything is going well in the Bundesliga. I am trying to adapt to the team and am learning German. I can understand the coach's instructions during training. Everything is great, and the league is developing well."
Mirzaliyeva expressed her hope to see more Azerbaijani female players competing in Europe:
"There are many talented female footballers in our country. They could play not only in Germany but in other top European nations as well. I believe in them. Hopefully, this transfer will open doors for others too."
