Osman Nurmagomedov, a member of the Azerbaijani freestyle wrestling team, gave an interview to the federation's website.

He assessed the recent preparation process:

- You held a training camp in Turkey in August. The last training camp took place in Baku. What can you say about it?

- The training camp in Turkey went well. 4-5 teams participated in the preparation process. More time was allocated for training on the carpet and we worked on mistakes. At the training camp in Baku, control matches were given priority. We finished without injuries. Everything is fine. The children are also in good shape.

- How is the mood in the team?

- The team's mood is good. We held training sessions at a high level. Our wrestlers are focused on victory.

- Do you consider yourself fully prepared for the competition?

- I feel good. Everything is fine.

- You have lost several times in the finals of the world and European championships. What is the final syndrome connected with?

– I was very close to winning in all of them. I guess there was a lack of sporting happiness in those matches.

– Who are the main competitors?

– There are many strong competitors in 92 kg. I have analyzed their strengths and weaknesses. I know how to defeat them.

– What details are you working on to improve your individual qualities?

– We paid attention to ground work and footwork. We also paid attention to the end of the match. This also allowed me to get in good shape.

– Are you ready to end your 8-year longing for a gold medal in freestyle wrestling?

– First of all, I want to prove to myself that I can become a world champion. I will do my best for this.

– Since 92 kg is a non-Olympic weight, what weight do you plan to wrestle in at the next Olympic Games?

– If my health allows and there are no serious injuries, I plan to move up to 97 kg in the future.
