Absheron Lions Basketball Club has officially changed its name.
Offsideplus.az reports that the basketball team, which finished last season as the silver medalists of the national championship, is entering the new season with major upgrades.
As part of the club's development strategy and new goals, the team—previously competing under the name Absheron Lions—will henceforth continue its operations as Landau Lions. Along with this rebranding, the club's new logo has also been unveiled to the public.
In addition to the name change, another historic milestone is taking place in the team's history. Landau Lions will test their strength in the FIBA Champions League, one of the most prestigious club tournaments in basketball.
Participating in this tournament for the first time in its history, our representative will start its campaign from the qualification stage. A total of 24 teams will compete in this stage to secure a spot in the main tournament. Information regarding the team's opponents and exact match dates is expected to be announced in the near futures.
