Azerbaijan to Host Inaugural FIFA U-15 World Championship and 2026 Festival
Offsideplus.az reports that following a decision by the Bureau of the FIFA Council, the first-ever FIFA U-15 World Championship for boys, alongside the 2026 Festival, will be hosted in Azerbaijan.
The historic tournament is scheduled to take place from October 22 to 31, 2026. U-15 national teams from member associations of football's global governing body will be eligible to compete in the tournament.
In making this decision, FIFA took into account Azerbaijan's modern sports infrastructure, world-class athletic facilities, and its successful track record of organizing major international sports events. Securing the hosting rights further solidifies Azerbaijan's growing reputation in global football and its capability to stage top-tier international tournaments.
It is worth noting that FIFA officially approved the establishment of the U-15 World Championship in December 2025.
Furthermore, during the FIFA Executive Committee meeting held on October 2, 2025, it was previously announced that Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan will jointly host the final stage of the FIFA U-20 World Championship in 2027.
