The 7th day of the World Championship among wrestlers under 20 years of age held in Samokov, Bulgaria has taken place.

Offsideplus.az reports that today, 2 more of our Greco-Roman wrestlers ascended the podium.

Turan Dashdemirov (55 kg) lost to Iranian Payam Balutaki in the final in a tense match with a score of 3:5 and lost the silver medal. Faraim Mustafayev (67 kg) defeated Japanese Takaku Suzuki with a score of 5:4 and became the third in the world.

Seymur Gasimov (72 kg) lost to Kazakh Yussuf Ashrapov by “touchdown”.

Tural Ahmadov (63 kg) defeated Indian Gaurav Gaurav on the first point principle (1:1). However, in the 1/4 finals, he lost to Kazakh Damir Ibrashov (1:1) in the same way. Davud Mammadov (77 kg) lost to Armenian Samvel Terteryan on the first point principle (1:1) in the qualifying round.

Orkhan Hajiyev (87 kg) defeated Moldovan Christian Rusu with complete advantage (10:0), but lost to Russian Abdurakhman Abdulkadirov by “touchdown” in the 1/8 finals. Mazaim Mardanov (130 kg) eliminated Armenian David Bagramyan (8:0) by Polish Mateusz Bienczak (touchdown). However, he lost to Turkish Cemal Bakir with a score of 3:4 in the 1/4 finals.

It should be noted that Orkhan and Mazaim will play a consolation match tomorrow.

Thus, the number of our medals at the world championship has reached 8. Earlier, Aykhan Javadov (60 kg) won gold, Ruzanna Mammadova (62 kg) won silver, and Gunay Gurbanova (59 kg), Vasif Bagirov (57 kg), Nurlan Agazade (70 kg) and Yusif Dursunov (125 kg) won bronze medals.
