“I plan to continue my life as a legionnaire.”

This was stated by Azerbaijan national team footballer Nigar Mirzaliyeva, who plays for Russia’s Zenit, in an interview with Offsideplus.az.

She noted that she has received offers from several clubs:

“I have a one-year contract with Zenit. The club has offered a new deal as well. For now, I’m thinking about it. I don’t want to rush this decision. I also have other offers. I will consider whichever option is better. I’m 23 years old and I believe I still have strong playing potential. I’m not thinking about returning for now. I would also like to test myself in European countries.”

Mirzaliyeva also spoke about her future plans:

“I consider 2025 a successful year. It’s true that we didn’t have the chance to become champions with Zenit. I think we will win the championship next year.

We had successful, winning matches with the national team. The European Championship matches will start soon. At the moment, we are fully focused on those games. As a team, our only goal is to win and advance from the group.”

It should be noted that Nigar Mirzaliyeva’s contract with Zenit runs until the end of 2026.
