17 years have passed since the death of Heydar Aliyev, the architect and founder of the independent Azerbaijani state, national leader of our people, world-famous political figure.
Offsideplus.az reports that on December 12, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva in the Alley of Honors went to visit the grave of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
President Ilham Aliyev has laid a wreath at the tomb of the great leader. The national anthem of Azerbaijan was played.
It should be noted that Heydar Aliyev was born on May 10, 1923 in Nakhchivan. He died in Cleveland on December 12, 2003, at the age of 80. Every year, December 12 is celebrated as the Day of Remembrance of the Great Leader.
