As part of the "FIFA Series - 2026" international tournament, the Azerbaijan national football team will face Sierra Leone tomorrow.

Offsideplus.az reports that Azerbaijan's head coach, Ayxan Abbasov, and national team member Gismat Aliyev participated in the pre-match press conference.

Here are the remarks from Ayxan Abbasov: "We are heading into our second match of this tournament. The opponent will be playing their first game, which gives them an advantage. However, we are playing at home and want to win with the support of our fans. The opponent is different and ranks higher than us in the standings. Except for two players, the entire core squad is here. It is crucial for our players to build chemistry. We will have one more training camp after this before our official matches. In the summer, we will face Malta and San Marino. As for tomorrow's match, the players' motivation will be even higher than in the first game. We will complete our final training session and step onto the field tomorrow."

Gismat Aliyev added: "An important match awaits our national team. These games are crucial for us ahead of the Nations League. There was a winless streak, but we broke that spell with a confident performance in our last match. Tomorrow, we will do our best to secure another victory."

It should be noted that the Azerbaijan - Sierra Leone match will take place on March 30 at 19:00 at the Mehdi Huseynzade Sumgayit City Stadium.
