The head coach of the Azerbaijani national team, Fernando Santos, has expressed his opinion on the issue of organizing a possible friendly match with Russia.

Offsideplus.az reports that the Portuguese coach said that the reason for the negative response to the proposal from the Russian Football Union should be found out from AFFA.

"This is not a question for me. AFFA can answer the issue. There are many proposals to hold friendly matches. Agreement is reached with some, others are rejected," the 70-year-old coach emphasized.

It should be noted that some time ago, information was spread in the media that the Russian Football Union had addressed an appeal to AFFA to hold a friendly match with Azerbaijan. Unable to reach an agreement with AFFA, the Russians chose Grenada (March 19) and Zambia (March 25) as opponents.
