Arif Asadov, the former coach of the Azerbaijani national team, shared his analytical views on the matches of the XX round of the Misli Premier League in a statement to Offsideplus.az.

Imishli 0–1 Qarabag

Asadov noted that the Agdam side was the clear favorite in terms of experience and quality. However, he highlighted the pitch conditions as a major factor: "The game took place under difficult conditions, which prevented Qarabag from playing their desired football. Despite being a man down, they managed to secure the necessary three points. It is well known that a tough match against Newcastle awaits the Azerbaijani champions, making league wins crucial during this period. Imishli put up a good fight, but the difference in class ultimately told."

Zira 1–0 Karvan-Yevlakh

Regarding Zira's home victory, the specialist emphasized that the hosts could not afford to drop points. "While Karvan-Yevlakh appeared motivated and tactically sound, quality once again played a decisive role. Zira was clearly playing for the result and achieved their goal. With the battle for 3rd and 6th place intensifying, every match holds special significance for them."

Araz-Nakhchivan 1–0 Sumqayit Asadov described this as a balanced encounter between two teams closely positioned in the standings. "Araz-Nakhchivan looked more confident than in previous games and earned a vital three points. Conversely, Sumqayit's situation has become more difficult after losing points; they must maximize their tally if they aim for European qualification."

Kapaz 1–3 Neftchi

The specialist pointed out that this victory answered lingering questions about Neftchi's recent form. "There were doubts whether Neftchi's recent wins were a fluke or genuine progress. This match provided the answer. After resisting in the first half, Kapaz was outplayed in the second as Neftchi displayed clear superiority to secure a well-deserved win for the European spots."

Shamakhi 0–0 Turan Tovuz

Asadov characterized this draw as a fair result following a relentless battle for every inch of the pitch. "While Turan Tovuz needed the three points more for their European ambitions, Shamakhi proved once again that they can be a headache for any opponent through their determination."

Gabala 0–1 Sabah

The final match of the round between the leader and the bottom-placed team featured two distinct halves. "Sabah dominated the first half, while Gabala looked to strike on the counter. However, we saw a completely different Gabala in the second half. They deserve praise for their performance, but in such matches, the result remains more important than the quality of play."

Following 20 rounds of play, Sabah currently leads the standings with 49 points.
