Azerbaijan's senior national team will face Liechtenstein from November 13-16 in the UEFA Nations League D League, followed by a friendly match against Andorra away.

Offsideplus.az reports that there are expected to be surprise inclusions in the squad that will be announced for these matches.

One of the candidates likely to receive a call-up to the senior team is Lorenzo Mezzotero, who plays for Italy's Sampdoria.

The 18-year-old forward from the U-21 national team caught the attention of the coaching staff by scoring his first goal for the senior team during a match in which they defeated Virtus Entella 2-0 in the 10th round of Italy's Serie B.

Coming on in the 17th minute, the forward made a significant contribution to his team's victory by scoring in the 42nd minute. Having spent part of his childhood in Azerbaijan and played in the academies of Qarabag and Neftchi, this performance could pave the way for him to join the senior national team.
