The European Taekwondo Championships for seniors continue in Munich, Germany.

According to Offsideplus.az, Azerbaijan is represented by nine taekwondo athletes at the tournament: Sayad Dadashov (54 kg), Gashim Magomedov (58 kg), Fuad Maharramli (63 kg), Riyad Shiraliyev (68 kg), Javad Aghayev (74 kg), Eljan Aliyev (80 kg), Minaya Akperova (46 kg), Samarrukh Osmanova (49 kg), and Maryam Mammadova (53 kg).

Three Azerbaijani fighters took to the mats yesterday: Paris 2024 Olympic silver medalist Gashim Magomedov (58 kg), Eljan Aliyev (80 kg), and Maryam Mammadova (53 kg). Mammadova secured a victory in her opening match but was defeated in the round of 16. Meanwhile, Magomedov and Aliyev both suffered losses in their opening bouts. All three have officially exited the competition.

It should be noted that on the first day of the championships, Riyad Shiraliyev and Minaya Akperova also competed but failed to secure any medals.

The European Championships will conclude on May 14.
