According to the International Judo Federation calendar, the Astana Grand Slam will take place in the capital of Kazakhstan from May 8–10.
Offsideplus.az reports that 11 Azerbaijani judokas (6 men and 5 women) will compete across 7 weight categories. The athletes will be led by the men's national team coaches, Elkhan Mammadov and Slavko Tekic, along with the women's national team head coach, Amina Abdellatif, and senior coach Sasha Herkenrath-Wimar.
A total of 303 athletes (178 men and 125 women) from 37 countries will participate in this World Judo Tour event.
